Assessment

Assessments consist of at least one 60 minute session where the Speech-Language Pathologist will:

- Gather background information (Client Intake form will be emailed to the family before the assessment)
- Assess your child’s speech and language skills and areas of concern
- Review findings and set goals together with the client and his/her caregivers
- Propose a plan to work towards achieving the goals

1:1 Treatment

Treatment sessions will take place at Durham Speech and Stuttering Services with the Speech-Language Pathologist and the client and his/her caregivers.  Caregiver participation is strongly encouraged to ensure that skills learned in session will be successful when completing home practice.  Sessions will be either 45 minutes or 60 minutes in length, depending on the client’s age and/or attention.

Report Writing

Formal reports are available upon request and will be subject to regular hourly fees.

Consultation with the family (outside of session time) or other professionals is available upon request and will be subject to regular hourly fees.
